People living with chronic illness can often experience mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, overwhelm and even burnout. In addition to learning about and adjusting to managing the physical aspects of their illness, they may be faced with additional stressors such as navigating the health care system, insurance coverage and related financial worries.
Join us for a presentation on this topic from Allison Fine, MSW, LICSW, the founder of the Center for Chronic Illness (CCI). In this webinar, you will learn about common mental health challenges faced by chronic illness patients as well as strategies for supporting patients impacted by ongoing health challenges. The presentation will include topics such as depression and anxiety, medical trauma and gaslighting, and grief and loss.
This session will cover
1. Participants will learn about common mental health challenges experienced by patients living with chronic illness.
2. Participants will learn about the myths typically believed about the chronic illness experience and how these can negatively impact patients.
3. Participants will learn about the signs of medical trauma and how experiencing ongoing trauma and medical gaslighting can impact their ability to receive care and manage chronic illness.

Speaker Bio
Allison Fine, MSW, LICSW, is a clinical social worker and the founder of the Center for Chronic Illness (CCI). With more than 19 years of experience spanning private practice, nonprofits, hospitals, and senior living communities, Allison has dedicated her career to supporting the emotional well-being of individuals facing chronic health challenges. In 2016, Allison founded CCI with a mission to address the unique needs of those navigating chronic illnesses and rare diseases and fill the gaps in the social support systems for this population. Under her leadership as executive director, CCI has become a source of support, fostering connections and enhancing well-being for individuals and their loved ones. Allison is also a speaker, educator, and writer, known for her insightful contributions to the field. Allison earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kansas and is a licensed clinical social worker in Washington state. Through her work and passion, Allison continues to inspire and empower those impacted by chronic illness, with the goal of making a profound difference in their lives and communities.
