Support our innovative programs to reduce suicides in Washington state and across the nation.

Suicide is a public health crisis and a personal tragedy. Every year, thousands of Americans die by suicide, and millions more consider it. The good news is that many suicides can be prevented.

At Forefront Suicide Prevention, we develop innovative, evidence-informed suicide prevention programs that are grounded in a social-ecological public health model. We offer online and in-person trainings and programs. Our recent public policy work has focused on the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, the WA State Behavioral Health Response Network, the Governor’s Challenge (a program aimed at reducing veteran suicide), and the updated WA State Suicide Prevention Plan (still in revision).

We have been particularly successful in driving public policy to reduce suicide by advocating for legislation that serves as a national model for systemic change, and by partnering with organizations to deliver our message and training to those who are disproportionately impacted by suicide.

Since our founding in 2013, Forefront has grown into a leading suicide prevention center with support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and federal and state institutions. Today the need is greater than ever, but together we can make a difference.
